DJL (Dustin James Leighton) is an American Voice Actor and Director of Photography. He left home at 17 and moved to Mt. Vernon, NY where he started out in a work scholarship program as the janitor at Broadway Dance Center.  Within two years he earned his AEA Card by reviving the roll of David in Harvey Fierstein’s classic, Torch Song Trilogy. Two years later he was signed by ICM’s voiceover department, making him one of the youngest men on roster.

His voiceover career flourished earning North American commercial contracts with Tresemme, Fandango, McDonalds, and more, network contracts with Fox Sports, VH1, MTV, and more, which earned him a place with the Transformer’s Franchise as the voice of Autbot Evac on Transformers the Ride 3D. Having worked under the guidance of Michael Bay, Timothy Busfield and other long established directors, Dustin gradually developed a new love: cinematography.

DJL attended the ASC Masterclass in the winter of 2019 and embarked upon a journey to refine his light shaping skills, a passion he now pours his heart into daily. Expect a diversified array of artistic knowledge from an old soul who’s worked amongst the best in the industry, even walked the Red Carpet with Steven Spielberg. Humble. Kind.
